How does the polaroid book work?

It's really easy. You choose yourselves a nice album before the wedding - something that you like with at least 40 pages. After that, all you have to remember is to bring it with you on the day. I set up the camera somewhere at the reception, inside or outside, it doesn't matter really as long as the light is nice because to be really beautiful they need to be shot in natural light.
Then with the assistance of the ushers, we invite people to come along and have their picture taken. They literally need to be in front of the camera for less than 10 seconds each. If we look at Ed and Natalie's wedding as a typical example, they decided that because they had set colour group pictures anyway they wanted the polaroids to concentrate on their friends mainly. Bear in mind that you may not want polaroids of absolutely everyone in the book.

    How long does it take?

The beauty of the polaroids is that they are taken very quickly. To give you an idea I can normally take all of them in around ten minutes and then everyone can go back to celebrating. During the meal, I open all the polaroids, let them dry and then with the help of a bit of a little glue I mount them in the album that you have brought. (If you are too busy to organise the buying of a book I can do that for you.) By the end of the speeches it can be mentioned that the polaroid book is now ready to sign and then whenever they want, the people who are in it, come back and write a message to you both on their page. When it is all done it is all yours!...a completely unique and personal memento of the day from all your friends.

    Why is it so special?

As I explained earlier, the polaroid camera is not at all like the instant polaroid cameras that you may be used to. It is attached to a 6 x 7 camera and is usually used in fashion photography. The film itself is very rich in colour which always gives luscious and unique results. There are no copies (though people can have digital copies made afterwards if they want them) and there are no negatives. There is only one copy of each picture and it will be mounted and signed in your book. The end result is a book of beautiful and unique photographs set on pages all signed by the people you love most in the world. The actual polaroid measures 7cm x 10cm with the image measuring 7cm by 7cm.

Do we have to have the polaroid book?

Absolutely not. The idea is that between all the possibilities of black and white and colour photography and the polaroid book, you have a very broad choice. In the end all that is important is that you get exactly the photography that you want on your wedding day.
